Goa girls and boys emerged runners-up in 17th Junior National Tennis Ball Cricket Championship at Dehradun.
Goa girls lost to Chattisgarh by 6 runs in the finals. Batting first, Chattisgarh were 53 in 8 overs. Sharmila and Manisha took a wicket each.
In reply, Goa were all out for 47 runs. Astida scored 8 and Bharati 6.
The overall performance of the Goa girls team was excellent. Bharati Gaonkar, Melissa Dias, Sharmila Naik were outstanding with both bat and ball.
In the boys section, Vidharba defeated Goa by 21 runs. Batting first, Vidharba scored 89 runs in 10 overs. Goa could score only 68 runs in the allotted 10 overs losing 5 wickets.
