Dempo too good for Police

Dempo Sports Club defeated Goa Police Sports Club 4-1 to storm into the semi-finals of Casino Royale Faria Gold Cup soccer tournament at Dr T B Cunha Sports Complex, Cansaulim on Friday. Dempo led 2-0 at half time.
Dempo with their young team took the field on a positive note and impressed the crowd with their fast movements and swift passes.
Joshuah Vaz struck in the 8th minute when he flicked the ball through the Police goalkeeper. Dempo consolidated their lead in the 31st minute through Terence Fernandes when he punished the Police defence for their lapses.
Just when the Goa Poilce looked down they came up with a brilliant goal from Paresh Morje who slamed the ball with a well struck volley.
Changing over, Goa Police had their chances but could not capitalize on these. On the other hand, Dempo scored two more goals through Jayesh Chopekar and Avelino Fernandes in the 85th and 90th minutes.
Rupesh Kamat, goalkeeper of Goa Police was awarded the man-of-the match award for his outstanding performance.
