MARGAO: Two workers of the Aam Aadmi Party were assaulted by a youth on Sunday afternoon. The incident occurred on a playground near the Housing Board, when two AAP workers Chandan Lalwani and Suresh Agiwal were on a door-to-door campaign. Both the men are Rajasthan natives.
The two AAP workers came across some men playing on the ground. The men called the two workers and engaged them in a friendly chat after which they started dancing to the tunes of a Goan kantar. The two AAP workers then insisted that they wanted leave for their campaign. But the men stopped them and insisted on dancing further. When the two workers resisted, it led to an argument and an assault by one of the locals using a cricket bat causing bruises, cut and bleeding to the AAP workers.
The police have registered an offence under section 327 of IPC and have begun investigating the matter.
