Potholes on Goan roads have become a common phenomenon, which have caused untold hardships to motorists and pedestrians.
With the recent rains, during late evening and night, the situation has become a death trap for motorists as potholes that are now covered with water and increasing the possibility of mishaps.
The same can be witnessed at Ponda too. However, it is rather unfortunate that the concerned authorities have not initiated any action in assuring timely repairs of potholed roads.
Citizens were hopeful that the roads would be attended to, prior to Ganesh Chaturthi festival. But alas! It was not so.
Seen in the photo is the potholed road adjoining Maruti temple at Varkhandem in Ponda. Pillion riders and pedestrians are the worst sufferers while proceeding along this location.
In public interest it is the need of the hour to assure swift action in improving the worsening condition of roads at different locations so that hardships faced by motorists end.
