It is known that the roads in the city, within the limits of the Corporation of the City of Panjim, are not meant for the use of heavy vehicles like trucks.
That is why I was surprised to see this truck, the image of which I captured on my mobile phone, which was carrying a combine harvester that too on the Dayanand Bandodkar Marg, right in the heart of the city and in the presence of traffic police.
In fact, I was shocked to see that the traffic police did not even bother or budge to question this infringement, let alone booking the driver for traffic violation.
It may be highlighted here that if this particular truck had met with an accident, a very cumbersome rescue effort would have been needed in order to get traffic on this main thoroughfare cleared on time.
In light of this occurrence, I would to immediately seek remedial steps so as to prevent the occurrence of an accident that can be averted by preventing such heavy weight equipment from being carried on top of the truck.
Low traffic density time like early morning or at night can at the most be allowed for such heavy traffic.
