The Bombay High Court at Goa Tuesday adjourned hearing on casino petitions till July 1.
Petitions filed by casino stakeholders came up for hearing before the Division Bench of Justice B P Dharmadhikari and Justice U D Salvi.
The Advocate General Subodh Kantak told the Court that suggestions offered by casino owners are not acceptable to the government.
The association of casino owners had discussion with Captain of Ports (CoP) last week to work out a consensus solution to the problem.
The casinos operating in Mandovi River are opposed to going out into the sea. They suggested that casinos be allowed to be parked on either side of the river in one line so that other vessels navigating through Mandovi channel are not affected.
It is one of the reasons why government had ordered casinos to shift at Aguada Bay. However, contention of casino owners is that their vessels are not sea worthy and would be washed away in strong monsoon winds if moved at Aguada Bay.
