PONDA: There is a growing conflict between man and wild life. To protect his crops, the man attacks the animals and the four-legged creatures often attack humans for their survival. In this scenario, the Forest Department officials play a major role, said Forest, Panchayats and Environment Minister Rajendra Arlekar during the opening of a workshop in Bondla.
Arlekar said that the Forest officials should play a role to bring harmony to both so that humans can accept and tolerate the existence of the animals.
Arlekar advised the participants as he inaugurated a three-day capacity building workshop on “Managing Wild Animals in Distress” organised by the Forest Department in collaboration with the Wild Life Institute of India, Dehradun.
He asked the officials taking part in the workshop to take advantage of the talks and the training provided in the three days. He exhorted those present to find out the reason behind the hostility between man and the wild animals.
