Panjim city is blessed with beautiful water bodies like the St Inez Creek and Rua de Ourem Creek (Fontainhas creek). There is a serious issue of water pollution just besides the existing sewage pumping station upto the Ponte de Linhares Bridge (Patto Bridge).
The smell of rotten eggs is more during the low tide. Authorities need to seriously look into the issue as the pollution near entrance of the creek could advance upto sluice gate (manas) near Four Pillars, renderings the fish catch yield reduce.
