I have seen many places in the State, the transformer centres maintained by the Electricity Department have been fenced for protection and safety.
In Siolim, many of the transformer centres, which are erected on the main road, do not have such fencing for protection and safety. Some irresponsible drivers park their vehicles near such transformers, due to accidents on the roads, which could be dangerous.

There’s a possibility of the transformer getting damaged and even cost a life and put the consumers out of power for many hours till it is replaced or repaired. Let’s practice safety in our villages too. In the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP), fencing of the transformers was proposed but remains in papers.
