A shocking double murder in Bengaluru has come to light after a woman and her alleged lover were arrested for the deaths of her 38-year-old husband and their five-year-old son.
According to police, the accused woman, Harini, and her boyfriend, Vinay, allegedly planned the killings because they believed her husband, Abhinandan, was preventing them from continuing their relationship. Police suspect that Harini wanted a divorce so she could start a life with Vinay.

The incident unfolded at the family’s home, where Abhinandan and his young son were spending an ordinary evening watching television.
Family watched TV before killings
Police said Abhinandan and his five-year-old son were watching Bigg Boss on television when Harini was allegedly making preparations for the murders.
According to investigators, she was walking around the verandah while the father and son remained inside watching the programme. The killings were allegedly carried out later, after both victims had gone to sleep.
The sequence of events has shocked investigators because the alleged murders took place inside the family home and involved the child as well as his father.
Police have described the crime as pre-planned and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths and the accused’s alleged roles.
Husband allegedly seen as obstacle
Investigators believe the relationship between Harini and Vinay was central to the alleged murder plot.
According to the police version, the couple believed Abhinandan was standing in the way of their relationship. Harini allegedly wanted to separate from her husband and live with Vinay.
Police are examining communications and other evidence to establish when the alleged plan was made and how the accused allegedly executed it.
The investigation is also expected to focus on whether the accused had discussed or prepared for the murders before the night of the incident.
Five-year-old son also killed
The death of the couple’s five-year-old son has added another disturbing dimension to the case.
Police said the child was killed along with his father. Investigators are working to establish the exact circumstances and sequence in which the two deaths occurred.
The case came to light after the father and son were found dead at their Bengaluru residence, following which police questioned Harini.
Her subsequent alleged confession and information gathered during the investigation led authorities to focus on her relationship with Vinay and the possibility of a premeditated crime.

Harini and Vinay have now been arrested as police continue their investigation into the double murder.
