PANJIM: The High Court of Bombay at Goa on Thursday allowed the sixth casino vessel, M V Lucky Seven, promoted by Golden Globe Hotel Private Limited, to enter River Mandovi for mooring purposes.
The Court in its order said that getting the vessel into the river shall be done at the owner’s risk and at the directions and supervision of the Captain of Ports.
The Court observed that after verifying the material produced by the vessel’s management and the site inspection, it was found that out of three tugs provided, only two met the specifications.
The State Advocate General said that if a third tug is provided by the vessel’s management as per the specifications, the Captain of Ports shall grant permission to bring the vessel within the area.
Senior Advocate Surendra Desai, appearing for Golden Globe Hotel Private Limited, submitted that a third tug as per specified standards would be provided.
Golden Globe had approached the court on grounds that there is urgency in getting the vessel into the Mandovi in view of the inclement weather conditions, which requires immediate protection to the vessel.
M V Lucky Seven has been waiting to enter River Mandovi since May 19 after the government had decided to renew the expired license.
