Tourists, locals call for end to paragliding at Mandrem beach

PERNEM: In view of the recent paragliding incidents wherein tourists sustained minor injuries, some tourists on their visit to Mandrem beach along with the locals submitted a memorandum to the Mandrem Panchayat to stop paragliding in the area.

The tourists said, ”Mandrem beach has been known as tranquil beach where domestic as well as foreign tourists prefer to visit but the paragliding activity started by government is destroying the beauty of this beach”.
They further said, ”Two crash incidents have already been reported at the beach, which have proved unsafe for visitors, who may get hurt if any such incidents occur in future.”
Tourists Rebecca Andrist, Andrias, Kereu Vrid, Lorry Vaillamor, Raphael Perret, Myrna Van Der Zee, Qutka Uliana & Andrew Barlaw along with locals — Vinod Haldankar, Keshav Bhandari, Sandeep Arolkar and Bablo Shetgaonkar submitted the memorandum to the panchayat.
