BAMBOLIM: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) State unit met the Sports Authority of Goa (SAG) Executive Director, Dr Geeta S Nagvenkar and sought clarifications on the tender for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) awarded to a private party, which it claimed had no experience to handle the National Games.
AAP State president Amit Palekar said the Executive Director failed to provide satisfactory answers to his questions.

Palekar said the private party, having no experience, had quoted Rs 110 crore, much more than the experienced party, which had quoted Rs 92 crore. The earlier party which quoted Rs 92 crore has the resources to handle the responsibility, but it was sidelined.
He said, the party which has been awarded the tender was presently meeting with small time caterers in the State and the situation did not look good.
Palekar said the tender should have been awarded to the party with expertise and the amount saved could have been utilised on sports infrastructure.
He said that the SAG should have commenced an investigation immediately and now it has failed to provide satisfactory replies.
