PONDA: The highly prized and priced culinary delicacy Olmi (wild mushrooms) have finally made their presence in Ponda.
Vendors reportedly sold each packet at an exorbitant Rs 1,000 in the Ponda market on Sunday. However, the packets got sold within few hours despite the inflated prices. The vendors said, “These mushrooms are in high demand for their taste. Since they are rare, the cost is high. Further, one has to spend days and labour hard in the jungle in search of mushrooms.”
