MAPUSA: Ten-men PVC Parra came from a goal down to edge past Pilerne SC 2-1 in a Second Division Football League match at Parra ground, on Saturday.
Anson D’Souza put Pilerne ahead in the 35th minute only to find Pawan Kurade and Shubham Dessai scoring for Parra.

Parra had the better of the exchanges in the first half an hour and Joston Cardozo’s and Shubham Dessai’s headers were collected by Pilerne custodian Krupesh Bandodkar. Later, Shadab Sheikh’s header sailed over.
Another glorious chance went abegging for Parra when Shubham failed to connect Hilton Fernandes’ free-kick from outside the 6-yard box.
While Parra did the attacking, it was Pilerne who forged ahead in the 35th minute when a stiff grounder by Anson deflected off a defender into the goal.
Two minutes later, Parra received a jolt with the sending off Joston Cardozo for using abusive language by referee Vishal Pompuphekar. It was not very clear that the player used the abusive language against the match official.
In the 52nd minute, a rasping 25-yard strike by Pawn Kurade struck the inner of the goalpost for the equalizer. However, on finding that no goal was shown by assistant referee Sandeep Dhargalhar, who was in a better position to judge, Pilerne goalkeeper Krupesh collected the ball and kicked it into play. A strong protest from the Parra players ensued which saw referee Vishal reversing the decision and awarding a goal. Players from the substitute bench and team officials invaded the playfield. However, better sense prevailed with the intervention of match commissioner Pramanand Mandrekar and GFA’s officials and play was resumed after 15 minutes delay.
As the match progressed, Pilerne were unlucky to find Prakash Rathod’s two shots rebounding off the crossbar.
In the 89th minute Parra shot into the lead as a well executed free-kick by Sahil saw Shubham Dessai heading into the goal.
In the added time, Parra goalkeeper Ritesh Narvekar effected two brilliant saves off Dharshan Pujari.
