The Colva police on Saturday registered an offense against unknown water sports operator after the rope of a parachute hit a tourist walking on the beach causing injuries.
Colva police said the complainant, Ranapal Singh, a native of Colaba-Mumbai was walking on the beach when suddenly he was hit on the neck by the rope of a parachute.
The tourist landed on the beach and injured his nose in the process.
He later lodged a complaint with the Colva police, who registered a case under section 336 and 337 of the IPC against unknown operator.
Incidentally, this is not the first time that tourists and locals have had to contend with injuries on account of similar incidents.
The Colva police are investigating.
