Guardian Angel SC unveil new colours

MARGAO: Guardian Angel Sports Club unveiled their new team jersey for the ongoing Goa Football Association Goa Professional League on Saturday at a restaurant in Borda.
Speaking during the jersey launch, Club chairman and Environment and Power Minister Nilesh Cabral stated, “This season we should scale new heights which we expect from you. In any sport to succeed, commitment is required and you should strive to take the club ahead,” said Cabral urging the players to give their best and to shine in the future.
Earlier, Cabral unveiled the team jerseys (both home and away) in the presence of sponsors Griffin Fernandes, Lauriana Restaurant Borda, Ariston Severes, Johncy Restaurant Benaulim, head coach Riston Rodrigues, Manager Nicholas Rodrigues, Club President Jhoncy Fernandes and other dignitaries.
“We were part of Guardian Angel SC last year and I feel proud and privileged in being associated with this club. Last year, was my first year with IT the club, but this year we have thought of supporting Guardian Angel SC in a bigger way,” added Griffin Fernandes.
“I have been associated with sports from a while now. I supported the GFA 1st Division League once and later Guardian Angel SC. It’s my second year with the club and I am happy with their work and contribution towards the sport. I wish all the players good luck and success ahead in the league,” expressed Ariston Severes.
“All these years it was just Nilesh Cabral who was solely supporting us and it because of his efforts we are here. But I am happy to receive support from the other sponsors as well. We look forward for a good partnership in promoting the club and the sport in Curchorem and Goa,” stated Jhoncy Fernandes, Guardian Angel SC president.
Guardian Angel SC play their first league match against Churchill Brothers.
“Every year its a different story for us. This year, we are going to take each game at a time and will aim to finish in top four. We have a young and determined squad who are willing to learn and give their best and that’s what is important for me. We are ready to play against Churchill Brothers and I confident of the team and the mood in the camp,” said coach Riston Rodrigues.
