Police said, “The victim girl had gone to cottage hospital of Chicalim along with her female friend for some medical check up on Friday. However, she was diagnosed as pregnant. Since the victim is a minor, the doctors called us and after taking the victim’s statement we have arrested the accused.”

According to police, the accused was living in a rented house along with his wife, two children and parents and the victim girl; and from January this year, the accused sexually assaulted the minor girl on four occasions due to which she became pregnant.
