PANJIM: Goa Su-Raj Party (GSRP) has alleged that both Congress and BJP are turning a blind eye to the recovery of multi-crore illegal mining scam. Su-Raj Party has challenged both the national parties to recover the estimated loss of around Rs 35,000 crore cited in the Justice MB Shah Commission report.
“Mining companies have stashed large amounts of black-money in foreign accounts. This issue I have already raised as a journalist, where Goan mining business firms have an estimated Rs 22,000 crore in foreign accounts especially Swiss Banks,” Savio Rodrigues Su-Raj party south Goa candidate alleged in a press release issued on Friday.
“Similarly, politicians aligned to mining companies have foreign accounts. A former minister and current MLA is known to have over Rs 2800 crore stashed in banks in Russia, Singapore and China.”
The party pointed out that damage by mining companies to natural resources and the people of Goa was tremendous. They suffered poor health conditions, road deaths and polluted waters and vegetation due to mining.
