A large iron rod reportedly fell from ongoing flyover construction work at Dabolim, damaging the headlights and bumper of a car passing through the area. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.
The incident has raised concerns among local residents, who have demanded immediate action against the contractor responsible for the construction work.
Locals alleged that adequate safety measures, including protective safety nets, had not been installed at the construction site. They said the absence of such safeguards is putting motorists and pedestrians passing below at serious risk.
Residents pointed out that the falling rod could have caused a fatal accident had it struck a pedestrian or a two-wheeler rider.
They have urged the authorities to inspect the construction site and ensure that all necessary safety measures are strictly followed to prevent similar incidents in the future.
