NGOs, Activists Seek Meeting With CEC Over Ballot Paper Voting in Goa

A group of social and political activists and NGOs has approached the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Goa, seeking a coordination meeting with the Chief Election Commissioner of India during his proposed visit to the state in the first week of September.

The group has sought discussions on conducting the upcoming Goa Assembly elections through ballot papers, citing transparency and voter confidence.

The activists and NGOs pointed out that local body elections in Goa continue to be conducted using paper ballots and called for a healthy discussion on the issue involving all stakeholders.
