Baga Sewage Plant Dispute Leaves Local Tanker Owners Facing Financial Strain

A dispute over sewage tanker operations at the Baga sewage treatment plant has left local tanker owners facing financial difficulties, with some claiming their vehicles have remained idle for 20 to 25 days.

The tanker operators allege that unauthorised and unlisted private tankers are entering the facility and dumping sewage, allegedly bypassing the prescribed system.

They said the treatment plant can handle only a limited number of tankers each day and demanded strict enforcement of the existing listing and queue system to ensure registered operators get fair access.

The tanker owners have appealed to the Panchayat, the local MLA and Chief Minister for intervention, action against alleged violators and measures to protect the livelihoods of registered local operators.
