Naro broke the deadlock soon after resumption in the 52nd minute. Klins Mendes who received the ball around the centre line strode into space and his inch perfect through ball saw Naro latch on to it to calmly slot past an advancing Dempo keeper.
Naro could have doubled the lead minutes later but his chip sailed just over after Jason Barbosa did well to find him in the box.
The Salgaocar defense held firm thereafter to seal three valuable points and more importantly leaving Sporting with all to do in their final game against Vasco SC to prevent The Greens from retaining the crown.
