Goa Dairy MD rejects accusation of excess recruitment

PONDA: Goa Dairy Managing Director (MD) Anil Fadte on Wednesday rejected claim of some Goa Dairy farmers that there has been excess recruitment of 25 employees in Goa Dairy since past two months. They feared Goa Dairy to have same fate as Sanjivani Sugar Factory.

When asked about the petition filed by four farmers in the court challenging the excess recruitment, Fadte said that he didn’t receive any court notice on the issue. He said seven posts were vacant in Goa Dairy after retirement of dairy employees and those positions filled with new staff. One aged lady is recruited as per relaxation for ST.

He claimed that people with vested interest are spreading wrong news about Goa Dairy.  He further said that the Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) of Goa Dairy has been delayed due to COVID-19 pandemic, which will be scheduled before December. 

He said some new farmers at Vasco showing keen interest in production of cow and buffalo milk so Goa Dairy is planning to set up additional milk society at Vasco. Currently there are 181 milk societies supplying milk to Goa Dairy. 

Meanwhile Goa Dairy Administrator Durgesh Shirodkar revealed that Goa Dairy sale, which was 55000 litres per day few months ago, has jumped to average 60,000 litre per day.
