PANJIM: Goa’s Jeffrey D’ Souza and Pradeep Dhond won silver in veterans 65+ age group at the 11th MBA International Badminton Championship 2019 at Port Dickson, Malaysia.
In the final, they lost to Kwek Chiew Peng/Keek Chiew Toong. Earlier, in the semi-finals, the Goan pair defeated Soon Tet Fatt/Timothy Chan. Incidentally, Kwek Chiew Peng had played for his country Malaysia in 1979 Thomas Cup and was defeated by India’s Prakash Padukone.
A total of 700 players from 16 Countries competed in junior, senior and veteran age group categories.
