MARGAO: Aquem Baixo Sarpanch Siddesh Bhagat assured the villagers that the mobile towers in their village would be demolished as he had already applied for their demolition to the BDO. He made this announcement at the gram sabha held on Sunday.
He informed the villagers that he had succeeded in getting works costing around Rs 11 lakh sanctioned since taking over as the sarpanch and further disclosed that these files were pending since 2014-15 with various departments.
“Very soon construction of drainages and compound wall for the panchayat will commence in the village,” he said.
He further informed that after taking over as a sarpanch within a month he has recovered around Rs 90,000 as rent from various shops which amount was not collected for quite some time now and added that even the balance amount would be recovered.
“I am glad to state that most of the promises made by me have been fulfilled,” he said adding that the balwadi repairs are approved and that the sanitary workers are provided gloves and other safety equipment.
