Thanks to Citizen Herald, on April 17, highlighting the incessant digging and destruction of roads in the Kharebandharea of Margao. The roads are being repaired immediately after the report. It is worth mentioning that JICA sewerage works in Margao are being carried out in a haphazard manner by bypassing safety norms of public health and safety of citizens.
Road digging has to be planned in such a way that the public does not suffer endlessly due to open pits, dust and damaged roads. Proper planning by providing traffic diversion and undertaking road repairs immediately after completion of works will reduce public misery and suffering. Contractors also need to be hauled up for lack of concern for public safety.
