VALPOI: A group of farmers from Sattari petitioned Agriculture Minister Vijai Sardesai, on Wednesday, over wild animals damaging the agriculture crops since past many years.
They have urged the minister to help them in getting the wild animals that destroy crops as vermin.
The delegation was led by social activist Prashant Desai which briefed the minister about the prevailing situation in Sattari taluka. They explained that the crops have been destroyed by animals like wild boar, bison, peacocks and monkeys leaving the farmers helpless.
Sardesai has assured the farmers to look into the matter by consulting the Forest department officials and other concern authorities. “If needed, I will visit in Sattari taluka,” he told the visiting delegation.
