MAPUSA: Calangute police arrested an Orissa native for illegal possession of ganja worth Rs 9,300, on Monday night.
On receiving information that one Anil Kumar Swain (37), a native of Orissa, would be going to Calangute parking lot to sell drugs at 11 pm, PI Jivba Dalvi formed a team and raided the place. The accused was caught possessing ganja red handed during the raid, hence, was arrested.
The accused was arrested under Section 20(b) (ii) (A) of NDPS Act 1985. The raiding team consisted of PSI Mahesh Naik, PSI Prajit Mandrekar, PC Dinesh Morajkar, Govind Shirodkar and Apa Kadam.
