Vasco Citizens Forum backs Jose Philip
PANJIM: The Vasco Town Citizens Forum has stated that the people of Vasco constituency should unanimously decide on whom to vote in the coming assembly elections leaving aside party affiliations, but keeping in mind the right candidate who can deliver the goods and who can solve the problems of the constituency.
In a press note, the Forum highlighted the initiatives of present Vasco MLA Jose Philip D’Sousa.
“Some of his most visible efforts include construction of 5,000-cubic metre water reservoir tank, hot mixing of the main F L Gomes road and internal roads, laying of pavers on most of the pathways in almost all the wards, construction of sewerage pipeline wherever possible, etc,” claimed the Forum.
“Keeping in mind the youth of the constituency, a full-fledged mini auditorium at Chicalim sports ground was commenced with facility like gymnasium with modern equipment, badminton court, etc. Besides, another football at Non-Mon has been taken up,” stated the press note.
“Even though cleaning of gutters, maintenance of municipal building, construction of footpaths, cleaning of garbage was the work of the municipality, but the municipality has failed to discharge its duty. We will not blame anybody but we will blame ourselves for not doing our duty during the municipal election by not electing the right candidates,” stated the Forum.
“During the past many years since liberation, hardly any major developmental work even worth Rs 2 crore has not been taken up,” states the press note.
