UP native held for stealing two-wheeler, mobile phones

VASCO: Mormugao Police arrested Vikas Kumar Saroj (22), a native of Uttar Pradesh and presently residing at Gandhinagar, Vasco on the charge of stealing a two-wheeler and four mobile phone handsets, all valued at Rs one lakh.

The accused was arrested by Mormugao PI Ajit Umarye and PSI Aditya Naik Gaonkar along with LIB staff while they were conducting night patrolling in the port town.

The police on duty stopped Saroj after he was found riding a two-wheeler without a number plate. 

On interrogation, the police found that the two-wheeler was stolen and during the course of further interrogation the accused conferred of stealing four mobile phone handsets, which were also recovered by the police.

Since Saroj was involved in theft cases reported in the jurisdiction of the Vasco Police Station, he was handed over to the Vasco Police for further investigations.
