PANJIM: The Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority has struck down the proposal for allotment of additional shacks along the beach belt.
The regulatory authority had received a proposal for allotment of 12 additional shacks ~11 in North Goa and 1 in South Goa~ but rejected it.
“We have permitted only three additional shacks for North Goa and one for South Goa,” Levinson Martins, GCZMA member secretary said.
“Except for four shacks we have not considered the others for scientific and environmental reasons,” Martins explained. For the ensuing Tourist season Goa will now have 351 shacks, with 243 shacks in the North and 108 shacks in the South.
