MARGAO: Noted tiatr writer and director, Roque Joao Xavier Miranda, passed away on Tuesday morning after a brief illness. He is survived by two sons and three daughters.
Born in 1935, Miranda had written and directed more than 30 tiatrs in his career. He had started writing tiatr at the age of 18 years and was also a singer, composer and director. He also has to his credit a VCD Fuddarak Roddonk Poddot and an audio CD Sot Kednach Lipona.
Family sources said that Miranda was to be honoured with the Kala Gaurav Puraskar for his contribution to the field of tiatr.
