MDR road of pavers

The PWD seems to be needing lessons to study the procedures involved in road construction and its quality control owing to the bad roads in Goa which do not even last a monsoon.
The Colva to Cavelossim MDR road is a classic example how the PWD works in Goa. The picture shows cement pavers, which are normally used in public walkways, had been used at this cross roads on the MDR road in Orlim for the just concluded BRICs summit. These cheap and sub standard cement pavers which are not meant to bear heavy loads have started to buckle and disintegrate under the weight of the vehicles.
It is an irony that public money goes to waste in this type of sub standard road works which the PWD department seems least bothered as long as they get a reason to float a new tender for road repairs which is like a hen laying golden eggs for the entire department!
