VELSAO: Three Kings Boys defeated Prem Rose Velsao 2-1 to lift the late John Aguiar trophy in the final of the VI intra-village ward football tournament in memory of John Aguiar organised by the Velsao Villagers Association, at Dr T B Cunha Sports Complex, at Cansaulim, on Sunday.
Three Kings Boys opened the score-line through Denzil in the 47th minute.
Ashley doubled the lead for Three Kings in the 50th minute of the second half.
Minutes later, Prem Rose’s Crossley reduced the margin in the last minute of the second half.
The winners were awarded Rs 12,000 and runners-up received Rs 8,000plus trophies.
Antonio Vas, ZP Member of Cortalim was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to winners and runners up in the presence of Netty Aguiar, Andrew Ferrao sports promoter of Cansaulim and other dignitaries and club officials.
