Speaking to media Tuesday, Kamat raised objections to the Government’s move to increase water and electricity tariffs saying, “I don’t understand why the Government has increased the charges.”
The Margao MLA informed that the low water pressure problem of the Shirvodem, Calconda and Kharebandh residents will be solved by replacing the pipeline by a 200 mm diameter 350 meter long pipeline by bypassing the existing clogged pipeline.
While reacting to the recent water and electricity tariffs hike Kamat said that he really didn’t understand why the Government had to increase the tariffs. He said that higher tarrifs should be imposed on industries and commercial establishments and the benefit should be passed on to the public and not vice versa.
Kamat also informed that the sewerage lines of Margao will be connected to the Navelim sewerage plant in a matter of months.
