MAPUSA: Nuvem Veterans had to wait for the penalty shootout before they finally registered a 5-4 win over SAI Veterans to advance in the Veterans tournament, organised by Moira Veterans, at Moira club ground on Thursday.
Both the teams had equal number of scoring chances but their strikers failed to deliver the goods on entering the penalty box.
With the match ending in a goalless draw the penalty shootout was implemented where for the winners Remy Colaco, Angelo, Jerose, Wilson and John scored on target, while for the losers Robert, Audoot, Santan and Joaquim scored. Marcus Carvalho’s strike was stopped by the keeper.
