CURCHOREM: Javid Sheregar (26) from Tisk-Sanvordem had a miraculous escape after his two-wheeler was hit by a truck near the bridge at Khamamoll, Curchorem on Friday.
According to Sheregar, he was proceeding to his house from Curchorem market, and when he reached near the bridge, an ore-laden truck suddenly turned to go towards the jetty at Khamamoll.
“Sensing that truck would hit me, I jumped from the bike and saved my life,” he said.
According to sources, the two-wheeler was dragged for more than five meters after hitting the truck. Curchorem police conducted the panchanama and cleared the road.
Incidentally, the Sanvordem panchayat had recently called a special meeting with government authorities, representatives of mining companies and citizens to find a solution for dust pollution and solve traffic congestion. At the meeting, it was decided that the authorities would direct the transporters to strictly follow the traffic rules.
