ALDONA: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane, on Saturday, officially announced that Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar is suffering from pancreatic cancer and should be allowed to spend quality time with his family.
“CM is suffering from pancreatic cancer and there is no hiding this fact. He has recently returned after undergoing treatment at AIIMS and now needs to spend time with his family and no one has the right to question him on this. The family reserves the right to reveal on his health condition,” said Rane.
“Although he is unwell he has never kept held back any of my files. Whatever facilities and improvements have been carried out is due to him. In the past he has undertaken works related to bridges, roads and other infrastructural works which have not been undertaken in any other State. In future you all will remember that Parrikar for this infrastructure,” he added.
Health Minister also criticised the recent statement by Congress spokesperson Jitendra Deshprabhu on CM’s health condition.
“If Jitendra wants to go to court to find out about CM’s health he is free to do so. Congress has no other agenda but to politicise the issue. Don’t pester Parrikar and his family. An update on his health status will be revealed at the right time,” he added.
