CALANGUTE: A man has been accused of physically assaulting four women in UP, besides decamping with their valuables worth Rs 3.12 lakh and using their ATM cards to withdraw cash of Rs 2.72 lakh.
In her complaint to the Calangute Police, the victim stated that the accused had met her, her sister and two friends at the Shahjahanpur railway station, UP, on March 9.
According to the police, the accused took the victims to a hotel room at Shahjahanpur on the pretext of signing some documents to secure them jobs. He then served them some tea and coffee mixed with some intoxicating substance and they fell unconscious in the room.
The accused then physically assaulted them and stole their gold ornaments, mobiles phones and ATM cards. He then withdrew cash of Rs 2,72,700 from their bank account by using their ATM cards in UP on March 9, stated the victim. The total value of the stolen gold ornaments, cash and other articles is estimated at Rs 5,84,700.
Calangute police has registered the offence under Sections 328, 394, 380 IPC and PI Rajesh Kumar is investigating the case.
PI Kumar told Herald that the case would be forwarded to the UP police for further investigations.
