CCTV cameras at Revenue Dept offices to monitor functioning

PANJIM: Minister for Revenue Atanasio ‘Babush’ Monserrate on Wednesday said that CCTV cameras will be installed at District Collectorate and all mamlatdar offices, with direct access to his office and revenue secretary to monitor their functioning.

Speaking to media persons, Monserrate said, “CCTV cameras will be fitted in Revenue Department offices to monitor the functioning”. 

He said that the move will also help speed-up disposal of pending civil cases.

“We should see the functioning. The monitor should be in my cabin and one in the secretary’s office. They should know how department functioning works and whether the department is functioning or not,” Monserrate said.

The minister has said that the CCTV cameras would be installed in all Revenue Department to keep check on disposal of cases.

“We have asked the Revenue Department about how many cases are pending. We are looking into that. We have put everyone on the job. All tenancy cases will be resolved in a stipulated time,” Monserrate said.

Speaking on waste management, Monserrate said that bio medical waste management facility at Kundaim Industrial Estate will be inaugurated on Friday.

He said that all sort of medical waste from the panchayat areas and hospitals will be handled at the facility. 

He also said that government is going ahead with the waste treatment facility at Bainguinim and fresh tender in this regard would be issued.
