SANGUEM: Newly elected South Goa MP Francisco Sardinha was felicitated by Congress workers and supporters at a special meeting held at Sanguem Municipal Hall, on Sunday.
The meeting was attended by a large number of party workers and supporters. The Sanguem Municipal Council led by Chairperson Romualdo Fernandes also took the opportunity to felicitate Sardinha by presenting flower bouquetes in the presence of vice chairperson Maria Fernandes and councillors Queiroz Cruz, Caitano Martins Fernandes, Sandesh Kossambe, Fouziya Shaikh, Prakash Gaonkar and others.
The Congress workers felicitated Sardinha by presenting him with a shawl and a memento.
On the occasion, Sardinha thanked the party workers and people from Sanguem for their wholehearted support and for reposing faith in him by giving large number of votes.
Sardinha assured the people from Sanguem of his continued support and cooperation for the development works in the constituency under the MP schemes.
Addressing the gathering, Savitri Kavlekar thanked the people from Sanguem constituency for securing over 6500 votes for Sardinha.
Youth Congress President Messiah Da Costa attributed the success of Sardinha in Sanguem to the work done by Sardinha during his earlier tenure and also to the ‘continuous’ work done by Savitri Kavlekar.
SMC Chairperson Romualdo Fernandes recalled the development works Sardinha had done in the constituency during his earlier tenure.
