PANJIM: Ritviz Parab, Ameya Audi, Shane Braganca and Saish Audi made a good start to secure three points after the third round in all-Goa State under-25 Open Chess Championship 2014 which commenced at Narayan Zantye College of Commerce, Bicholim, on Friday.
Niraj Saripalli and Ved Bhobe finished on 2.5 points. Ritviz outsmarted Sahil Shetty, Ameya Audi outplayed Harsh Bhobe, Paul Yash lost to Shane Braganca, Saish Audi was too good for Sheryash Arondekar and Ved Bhobe drew with Niraj Saripalli.
Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by Principal, Rajesh Amonkar in the presence of Dr. K. G. Shankarnarayan, Rajan Kadkade, Subhash Gawans, Pravin Sawant, Satyawan Harmalkar (joint secretary, GCA and president, BTCA) and chief arbiter Arvind Mhamal.
