VASCO: Much to the frustration of daily commuters, there was yet another massive traffic jam at the Cortalim junction on Monday. The slow speed at which traffic was moving was due to the serpentine long queues and the bad road conditions. The areas on either side of the bridge were affected by the delay.
However Vasco traffic cell downplayed the situation and claimed that traffic movement was smooth.
“I had to go to Panjim for some personal work in the morning but when I returned to Vasco in the afternoon, the traffic was so slow that I was delayed by more than one hour,” said a commuter named Vikram.
Other commuters concurred and blamed the traffic snarls due to the bad road conditions, especially at the Agasaim junction, which forces vehicle to drive with caution.
“There are potholes everywhere even on the Zuari bridge surface,” said another commuter. Irene, who was traveling to Nuvem feared that the roads are dangerous and unmotorable and questioned about the safety to life and potential damage to vehicles.
