15 Telangana tourists remanded

MAPUSA: The 15 Telangana natives arrested at Calangute for assault and attempt to murder were on Thursday remanded in police custody for two days by the Judicial Magistrate First Class at Mapusa.

MAPUSA:  The 15 Telangana natives arrested at Calangute for assault and attempt to murder were on Thursday remanded in police custody for two days by the Judicial Magistrate First Class at Mapusa.
The accused had assaulted Hotel Manager Abhilash Patil, room boy Remy Rebello, Raju and Jayesh Bhandari, both residents of Sanguem, outside Jude Guest House, at Tivaivado Calangute late Monday night. 
The room boy and the hotel manager suffered minor injuries in the assault, while Raju and Jayesh had suffered severe injuries. Police informed that the health condition of Raju is stable, but that of Jayesh’s is still critical. The latter two are presently undergoing treatment at Goa Medical College at Bambolim.
According to Calangute PI Jivba Dalvi, the room boy Remy Rebello had filed compliant against the 15 persons namely K Darshan, A Shrinivas, Prashant Reddy, Sayyed Usman, Sayyed Badiruddin, Purushottam Reddy, Narasimha Reddy, S Ajay, D Shrinivas, C Krishna, M Kiran, B Anjaniyelu, Devanand Anjaya, and Anjanaih Baliah. The accused had come to Goa to celebrate the New Year.
The accused have been booked under Sections 143, 147, 148, r/w 149, 323 and 307 of IPC. Police also attached a minibus bearing used by the accused persons. 
The 15 Telangana tourists were fighting among themselves outside the guest house when the staff intervened to stop the fight, they were assaulted by the visitors.
