PANJIM: Activist Anna Gracias on Monday appealed to Goans to support the “Concern Citizens of all over Goa to Protect Goan Heritage Against Illegalities” group by participating in the hunger strike to be staged on May 29, at Azad Maidan, here.
Gracias said, “I appeal to Goans to gather in huge number for a good cause and to save the State of Goa from illegal developmental work.”

The group also requested Congress MLA of Cumbharjua Constituency Rajesh Faldessai to have a word with Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant to demarcate a master plan for Old Goa to avoid any future illegality.
Addressing media persons, Faldessai said that he had spoken about the demolition of much controversial illegal structure at Old Goa with the Chief Minister and the CM has promised him about demolishing the said illegal structure as soon as possible.
Further, Faldessai said, “I have extended my full support to the ‘Concern Citizens of all over Goa to Protect Goan Heritage Against Illegalities’ group and we will approach the Supreme Court if action is not taken against this illegal structure.”
Stating that he will demolish the illegal structure at any cost, Faldessai said, “We have already started the procedure for its demolition by collecting all the legal documents required to remove this structure. The structure though is illegal, needs to be demolished by following the legal procedure.”
He further said that the people have complete faith in the Chief Minister, ruling government and the justice makers.
Faldessai also praised the group “Concern Citizens of all over Goa to Protect Goan Heritage Against Illegalities” for fighting for a good cause.
Santan Pereira, Adv Shaileah Gawas along with other members of the group were also present at the briefing.
