BICHOLIM: A 30-year-old youth from Pilgao in Bicholim was rescued by people after he fell into Sarmanas River with his two-wheeler, after hit by a car near Sarmanas ferry wharf, on Friday.
According to sources, Mahabaleshwar Prabhu Gaonkar from Pilgao was waiting at the Sarmanas ferry wharf for the ferry, when a car hit his motorcycle from behind. The impact was such that Mahabaleshwar fell into the waters with his motorcycle. Seeing this, the people standing near the wharf immediately rushed in and saved him. He was later admitted to Asilo hospital at Mapusa where he is undergoing treatment.
