Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has said that there was nothing new that the government was conveying through the circular issued through the Vigilance Department except use of language of threat to force the government employees into submission.
Convenor Elvis Gomes said the administrative collapse was staring the govt in its face due to poor management of COVID and the resultant bankruptcy looming large. “The government is attempting to cover up its own failures by undermining the dignity of its own employees by issuing threats. The circular is just short of calling them traitors. In fact if one looks at the composition of the government, traitors are on full display who have betrayed and cheated the electorate”, Gomes charged and called upon the employees not to feel threatened by such dictatorial attitude shown by the government. Meanwhile, the party has expressed its strong resentment on the order of Vigilance Dept asking govt employees not to participate or sign any petition criticising the govt. “We strongly condemn this gag order. It’s sad that the Sawant led-government is once again trying to hide its failures and this time its tool is censorship of government employees many of whom are corona warriors,” he lamented. “This act by the ‘Sawant Sarkar’ is effectively a gag order that adds insult to injury to government employees many of whom are frontline corona warriors” who are just worried about their economic and physical safety,” the party added.
