Speaking to the media after the function, Wagh decried that these families were only used as vote bank by the politicians of the past who used to only give them assurances of providing power and never fulfilling it.
“I took up their cause on humanitarian grounds and not for votes,” Wagh said and thanked the power minister for taking cognisance of his demand made in the Assembly.
Wagh wished success to the students who are staying in these houses as he said that they will now be able to study even during the night.
Naik said that this is the fifth such instance, wherein families who were deprived electricity have been provided power, during his stint as minister.
The total cost of the project is around Rs 4.50 lakh.
