Recounting the incident, Sydney Rebello said that last week he had informed his mother and relatives that he had seen blood coming from the eyes of Jesus in a picture in his house. Since then there have been crowds of faithful visiting the house and praying before the picture.
However, the Utorda parish priest acting on the instructions of the Episcopal Vicar, South Goa Fr Lucio Dias, has take possession of the picture. Fr Dias had stated that he had asked the parish priest to take possession of the picture and that the episode will be studied and examined by the Church.
Elsewhere, the image of Jesus on the bark of a banana tree in the house of Angelina Fernandes has been trending on social media, the internet, WhatsApp groups with messages getting sent from across the world and short videos and picture of the tree uploaded.
People continue to throng to the house and offer prayers and return feeling blessed to have seen the image. The image on the banana bark bears a striking similarity to the face of Jesus and has got faithful from across the State trying to visit the house.
People have also stated that God dwells within them and naysayers should respect the sanctity of the place and that such miracles are respected worldwide.
